Wireless Sensor Networks

Asset Networks are now able to deliver asset identification and location, using asset-attached EQ Smart Tags to automatically identify and report an asset’s location to supply chain and operations management systems. But, identification and location are not always enough. EQ Smart Tags can also monitor an asset’s condition, putting the asset into context. EQ Smart Tags, attached to machines or walls, can monitor physical or environmental conditions such as temperature, sound, vibration, pressure, motion, or pollutants at different locations. They’re a cost-efficient way to avoid spoiled refrigerated product, chemical leaks becoming an environmental disaster, or a slight machine mistuning developing into a breakdown and ultimately stopping a production line. Smart Tags can be deployed wirelessly, without the need to run expensive coax cables across a facility or having employees walk around using hand-held measurement equipment.

The EQ Smart Tag was built with wireless sensing in mind, offering 11 plug and play sensor interfaces in addition to the motion and temperature sensors delivered with every Agent by default. The EQ Smart Tag can be programmed to periodically measure sensory inputs, evaluate the results, and take action if needed.  They can send a simple message to the monitoring server to report a sensor threshold breached, or take local preventive action, such as stopping a machine before more serious damage occurs. Wireless sensor networking is an integral part of the Precyse N3 Asset Network and the EQ solutions.

The Precyse solution delivers asset identification, location, wireless sensing, and remote machine control to Fortune 500 organizations with an out-of-the-box integrated solution and a set of user applications to cover safety, yard & warehouse, maintenance and smart supply chain needs. Customers benefit right away from wireless sensor connectivity and off-the-shelf, low-cost EQ Smart Tags while continuing to use their existing asset network infrastructure and connectivity
