Low cost – The Micro Beacon is a wire-free, low cost device. A single Micro Beacon includes 4 independent beacon devices in one box and may operate over multiple radio frequencies simultaneously.
Low maintenance – The Micro Beacons are wirelessly monitored and managed making them practically maintenance-free with simple, one-time installation.
Plug & play – All you need to do is plug the Micro Beacon into to an electrical socket or switch on the battery-powered mode. If your business environment layout changes, Micro Beacons support over-the-air programming for on the fly re-deployment.
The entity awareness Network utilizes Micro Beacons that continuously transmit their ID over the air for location reference purposes. The Micro Beacons are stand-alone devices, which do not require hard-wired network infrastructure connectivity. Pre-packaged for indoor or outdoor environments, the Micro Beacon comes with AC, DC or battery power options for wire-free installation.
The Micro Beacon is an exceptional alternative to the standard approach of most real time location systems, which are uni-directional and are based on densely wired reader architecture to determine location. These competing systems require at least three readers to provide a measurement for each "tag" to use triangulation to calculate location. This makes location accuracy dependent on a dense mesh of many readers, yielding a solution which is not very accurate and usually extremely expensive to purchase and install
With the N3 bi-directional network architecture, PrecyseTech was able to move from a reader-based to the Beacon-based approach, drastically reducing infrastructure cost, simplifying the network, and increasing location accuracy.
Since the Micro Beacon’s transmission power can be wirelessly tuned to cover a changing range, the Micro Beacons constitute a location infrastructure capable of supporting full-fledged triangulation, combined with zone-based location from just three feet and up to a maximum of 1,000 feet accuracy. Smart Agent devices can use the Micro Beacon’s data to either implement a zone location (one cell is enough) or an advanced triangulation scheme in which multiple Micro Beacon signals are received by a Smart Agent to deliver high accuracy location. To further reduce cost, both location approaches may be combined together, delivering business-need driven location accuracy, indoors or outside.
In the Precyse network’s N3 wireless IIoT system, a Bridge Port is a fixed communications location. It relays information to and from transmitting/receiving units, such as Smart Agents and Micro Beacons. Often referred to as a N3 cell site, a base station allows Precyse Smart Agents and Micro Beacons to communicate with the iLocate Server (part of the iPALMsm Enterprise Software Suite).

The PrecyseTech Bridge Port is the network’s wireless routing unit. The Bridge Port supports the N3 wireless protocol, providing two-way communication with Smart Agents and Micro Beacons.
It is a robust infrastructure device, built to operate under extreme environmental conditions, supporting thousands of Smart Agent transactions. The Bridge Port is available for indoor or outdoor operations, with custom models optimized for vehicle mounting, airborne operability or wall-mount.
To address varying operating environments, the Bridge Port is available in autonomous customized packages that include GPRS/3G/LTE backhaul wireless communication options, 802.11n Wi-Fi access point or bridge connectivity and incorporates a GPS device to address unit location when mounted in vehicles. The network design further supports a redundant, overlapping architecture for increased reliability.
The Bridge Port is a low maintenance, stand-alone device functioning over TCPIP networks – such as Ethernet, wireless LAN or cellular bridged. Utilizing two alternative ISM license-free frequency bands, the Bridge Port has an effective wireless range of up to one mile almost anywhere around the globe. It is configurable over the network and by default includes four RF channels and a GPS receiver.
